Choose Microsoft Word dictation if…
Included with Microsoft 365, works inside Word, and handles live dictation reasonably well.
You dictate directly into Word and already pay for Microsoft 365.
Choose NUMU PRO if…
Recordings rather than dictation: any format, up to six speakers labelled, subtitles and summaries out of the same file.
You need to process recordings, separate speakers, or produce subtitles — none of which dictation does.

Microsoft Word dictation: common questions
The awkward parts of the comparison, answered without spin.
I already pay for Microsoft 365. Why add another tool?
If you only dictate into Word, do not. Dictation is included and works. Add us when you need to process recordings, separate speakers, or produce subtitles — none of which dictation does.
Does Word handle recorded audio files?
Transcription of uploaded audio exists in Word for the web, but it is English-centric and limited in format support and speaker handling.
What about Teams meetings specifically?
Microsoft transcribes Teams calls natively. Our bot covers Teams as well as Zoom and Google Meet, which matters only if you use more than one platform.
Try it on your own audio.
